CAPITAL PROJECTS
OCTOBER 21, 2011
TO: The Residents of the Summer Village of Gull Lake
RE: Capital Projects
The Capital Finance Committee of the Summer Village of Gull Lake is seeking input from the residents regarding the future capital projects that could be seen to improve the Village.
Over the past number of months, several ideas have been put forward for items such as park benches, playground equipment, hall improvements, beach improvements, tennis and pickleball courts, walking paths, etc.
Also upcoming is our Village 100 year anniversary and we are certain many of you will have ideas for capital projects to commemorate this event.
We wish to prioritize all of the projects residents deem worthwhile and from there seek financial support from the provincial and federal governments in order to make these become a reailty.
We are therefore asking for your input and ideas in this regard and would request you put your thoughts in writing (either by email to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or snail mail to the Village Office, Box 5, Site 2, R.R. 1, Lacombe, AB T4L 2N1) no later than November 30, 2011. Please mark your correspondence "Capital Projects".
Yours truly,
Capital Finance Committee

100TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
The Summer Village was incorporated as a Village on March 25, 1913. The Village is planning a big celebration for our 100th anniversary. If you are interested in serving on the planning committee, please submit a letter of interest, with your contact information, and deposit this in the mail slot on the south side of the Administration Office at the Hall.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROGRAM
Every municipality in the province of Alberta is mandated to have an emergency plan in place in case of disaster, whether it is natural or man- made. We have kits assembled with information and equipment, for setting up a reception centre, located in the storage rooms of the village hall. These kits need to be checked and updated with current contact information on an annual basis. Even if our community is not directly affected in an incident, we may be called to open our reception centre to aid the county or a nearby community in crisis. Currently I have a list of a few individuals who have made themselves available to assist the village with this coordination but we still need more volunteers. Ideally these individuals would live in the village or surrounding area year round, but seasonal residents are welcome as well. For more information on working with us as a volunteer, call or email:
